Frequently asked questions
Who is the Private plan for?
Anyone keeping animals privately rather than running a licensed collection: bird of prey keepers, reptile and amphibian keepers, parrot and bird keepers, exotic mammal keepers and breeders. There are four Private plans by number of animals: up to 10, 11 to 50, 51 to 100, and over 100.
Can I record flying weights?
Yes. Weigh in grams or lbs and oz. Set a minimum and maximum flying weight for each bird and any weight below the minimum is flagged in red, with the full weight history kept on the bird's record.
Can I keep A10 certificates and other paperwork?
Yes. Each animal's record holds its A10 number, ring and microchip numbers, and uploaded documents such as A10 certificates and registration documents.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. There are iPhone and Android apps, so weights, feeds and notes can be recorded where the animals are, not just at a desk.
What if I get a licence later?
You keep everything you've recorded. If you go on to hold an Animal Activities Licence or a zoo licence, you can move to that plan and pick up the extra tools for licensed collections.
